A Misty Morning, DUNE Colour Grade

In video and photos, I love playing with colour. It allows you to really set a mood and help tell the story you are trying to tell in a beautiful and cinematic way…

So when My photographer friend Phil and I saw some incredible conditions one early winter’s morning on a shoot, I decided to make Phil the centre of this short story as he sends his drone above the clouds.

With the golden morning light shining through the mist, it really reminded me of those beautiful yellow DUNE scenes in the desert. So in Davinci Resolve, I played with the colour grading to accentuate this and shot matched to a still from DUNE. A much lower budget but a pretty cool result in my opinion.
